What Is Pavé Setting?
Pavé (from the French word for “paved”) places tiny diamonds closely together along the band of the ring, held by small prongs or beads, creating a surface that appears entirely “paved” with diamonds. The effect is a continuous carpet of sparkle that flows seamlessly alongside the centre stone.
Our Rosée Pavé uses a full pavé eternity band — diamonds run all the way around the finger, creating 360° of brilliance. The Éternité Full Pavé uses a channel setting, where diamonds are set within smooth metal walls rather than prongs, producing a sleek, snag-free surface ideal for those with active lifestyles.
Micro-Pavé vs Full Pavé
Micro-pavé uses exceptionally small diamonds (under 0.01ct each) set with microscopic prongs, covering the band shoulders on either side of the centre stone. Full pavé extends this coverage around the entire band. Micro-pavé shoulders add around 0.15–0.25ct of total diamond weight; a full pavé eternity can add 0.5–1.5ct depending on band width and circumference.
Care Tips for Pavé Rings
Pavé rings require slightly more care than solitaires because the small stones are held by tiny prongs. Avoid hard physical impacts, remove your ring during heavy housework or gym sessions, and bring it to us annually for a free prong-tightening inspection. Our lifetime care promise includes this service for every ring purchased.
Choosing Your Metal
White gold and platinum are the classic choices for pavé rings because the white metal allows the diamonds to appear as a single uninterrupted stream of light. Rose gold creates a warmer, more romantic contrast, as seen in our Rosée Pavé. Yellow gold is striking against the cold brilliance of D–F colour stones.
