Caring for Your Princess Cut Diamond Earrings
Stud earrings accumulate natural oils and residue more readily than most jewellery. Princess cut stones in particular benefit from a regular cleaning routine — the open face and 4-prong setting allow product to collect around the corners.
Cleaning: Place both earrings in warm soapy water for 2 minutes. Use a soft brush to gently clean around each prong tip and under the stone. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry before storing. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners if any prong tips show wear.
Prongs: Princess cut corners are set in prong tips — inspect these annually. A prong that has bent away from the corner can allow the stone to work loose. Our atelier offers complimentary annual inspections.
